From sensors to dashboards: a beginner's path into IoT

Day one of our IoT programme is deliberately unglamorous: a breadboard, a temperature sensor, and a microcontroller. By the end of the first session every participant has real numbers moving across a wire they connected themselves — and that small victory carries the whole week.
From there the path is steady. Day two adds networking: the same readings, now travelling over Wi-Fi to a broker the participants configure by hand. Day three introduces storage and the uncomfortable discovery that real sensors produce messy, missing, and occasionally impossible data. Day four is the dashboard — charts, thresholds, and alerts — and day five is the demo, where every participant presents a working end-to-end system.
The point of the week is not the dashboard. It is the moment a participant realises that every impressive connected product they have ever seen is built from these same humble pieces — and that they now understand each one.
